The Cerro San Pedro Mine is an open-pit gold and silver heap leach operation located in central Mexico, 20 kilometres northeast of the state capital of San Luis Potosí, approximately 400 kilometres north of Mexico City. The mine site is readily accessed from the city center, and an international airport is located a short distance away.
The mine is operated by New Gold’s wholly owned subsidiary, Minera San Xavier S.A. de C.V.
The Cerro San Pedro Mine concluded active mining operations in June 2016. In 2018, the mine transitioned from residual leaching to reclamation phase.
